International HRM: A Cross Cultural Approach
London: Sage 2002

International HRMAlthough only one chapter covers Africa, this book provides an overview of the approach to people management in the Management and Change in Africa Project. A general themes is that other approaches, such as humanistic views of people in Africa, can contribute to effective and appropriate people management across the globe. The book also develops the distinction between instrumental and humanistic perspectives of human beings in organizations, and discusses how this influences the way the split between home/community life and work life is managed.
